My boss gave me some local mead, so I’ll be trying that, a new cider (with hints of pineapple, hooray!), my absolute favorite holiday snack (trader Joe’s gingerbread bars) and some frozen halibut.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again. S eattle restaurants have bad fish & chips, a nd exorbitant prices, even for cod. Trader Joe’s halibut however, is a hidden gem. A million times better than what you find locally.
So what are you having to keep you satisfied this long weekend?

I had a Baconator from Wendy’s. It was pretty delicious.

Well we got a leg of lamb at Xmas from a fancy place. It had too much garlic for my liking. So today I cut it all up and made lamb tikka since it has garlic in the recipe anyway.

I like Wendy's quite a bit. I wish they still had $1 doublestacks, although my arteries would probably disagree

It’s probably better for me that I can only eat it once a month or so max.

My next door neighbor makes his own mead. He recently opened a meadery. I still need to go check it out.
Tonight’s dinner is pizza and water. I had a large beer earlier today so I’d rather not go overboard.

I have a food coma after eating a baconator. The extra chicken nuggets don’t help.

i had half a cow with green beans mash and all the gravy
(slowcooked a kilo of beef for 4 hours.... sitting around in that smell all day was torture)

Drinking whatever my FIL has at hand, we did dinner at Showmars (its a local to Charlotte chain, Southern+Greek) as we head back to metro DC tomorrow.
